California Resources and Training's New OnDemand Webinar Video Service Is FREE To California Small Businesses

CARAT launches online training videos free to California small businesses. Small business owners and their employees can access free on-demand webinar videos on e-marketing, website development, e-commerce, social media, online communications, financial management, e-procurement, customer relationship management (CRM), project management, collaboration management, and purchasing & inventory management. "On-demand" means you can view these videos any time, any place, 24/7/365, at your leisure.

Viewing instructions are simple.

Step 1 - Go to CARAT's homepage, www.caratnet.org.

Step 2 - Click on the Free OnDemand Webinar Videos icon.

Step 3 - Register. Registration is only required for the initial viewing. For future viewings, you just log in.

Step 4 - Choose a video topic for viewing.

For your convenience, you can pause, rewind, or advance the video, just as you can do with any online movie. Don't have time to view the video in one sitting? You can bookmark where you stopped and return to it later.

CARAT works statewide in conjunction with ten collaborative partners: Alameda County SBDC, Asian Pacific Islander Small Business Program, Contra Costa County SBDC, California Capital FDC - Women's Business Center, California Hispanic Chambers of Commerce, Coachella Valley Women's Business Center, Inland Empire Women's Business Center, Latino Business Chamber of Greater Los Angeles, and Manchester Community Technologies to offer technology-based training focusing on job creation and broadband adoption. CARAT receives funding from the California Emerging Technology Fund and other major funders, such as Bank of America, Union Bank, and Wells Fargo. The online webinar video platform was developed in partnership with bizTIKO, an online tool for small businesses.

A large majority of Californians have a broadband Internet connection at home (72%, up from 55% in 2008). Broadband use at home is 11 points higher in California than in the nation as a whole: In a recent Pew Internet & American Life Project survey, 61% of adults nationwide reported having broadband. Currently, 84% of Californians use the Internet (up from 70% in 2008), compared to 77% of adults nationwide.
